Who is responsible for your data

French Riviera Boats Limited, Port de Beaulieu Plaisance, Bd du Maréchal Joffre, Poste TA13, 06310 Beaulieu-sur-Mer, France, decides how the personal data described here is used, and is responsible for it. For anything on this page, write to hello@frenchrivieraboats.com.

What we collect

Only what we need to arrange your day and answer you:

• When you book: your name, email address, telephone number, where you are staying, anything you tell us about the day, and the boat, date, time and number of guests.
• While you fill in the booking form: what you have typed so far is saved as you go, even if you do not finish, so the crew can get in touch if the booking is not completed. If you would rather we did not keep it, tell us and we will delete it.
• When you write to us, join a waiting list or leave a review: the details you type into the form.
• When you pay: Stripe collects your card details directly. We receive confirmation of the payment, never your full card number.
• For your safety on the day: anything you choose to tell us about children, non-swimmers or health, used only by the crew and only for your charter.

Why we use it

We never sell your details or use them for advertising. Each use rests on one of the grounds the GDPR allows:

• To arrange and run your charter, because it is needed for our contract with you.
• To answer an enquiry or a waiting-list request, or follow up an unfinished booking, because you asked us to, or because it is in our legitimate interest to help you complete a booking you started.
• To keep you safe aboard, with your consent, for anything you tell us about health.
• To publish your review, with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
• To keep accounting and tax records, because the law requires it.
• To keep this site and our booking system secure, in our legitimate interest.

Who else sees it

We share your details only with those who need them to arrange your day or run our business, and only as far as they need them:

• The operator and crew of the boat you book.
• Stripe, which processes card payments.
• Google (Firebase and Google Cloud), which hosts this site and our booking system, and our email provider.
• Public authorities, where the law requires it.

Outside the European Union

Some of these providers may process data outside the European Union. Where they do, the transfer is covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission, such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, or by its standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

We keep your details only as long as we need them:

• Enquiries, waiting-list requests and unfinished bookings: up to three years from your last contact with us.
• Bookings: for as long as your charter needs, then as long as the law requires us to keep accounting records, which in France is ten years.
• Reviews: until you ask us to remove yours.
• Health information: deleted after your charter.

In your browser

This site sets no advertising or analytics cookies, so there is nothing to consent to. It keeps a few things in your own browser so that it works the way you left it: your language, light or dark mode, the days it already knows are taken, and a copy of any message you send through the site, so that a poor connection cannot lose it. None of it is used to follow you, and you can clear it at any time in your browser’s settings.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to have it deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, or to receive it in a portable format, and you can withdraw any consent you have given at any time. You can also tell us what you would like to happen to your data after your death. Write to hello@frenchrivieraboats.com and we will reply within one month.

If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can complain to the CNIL, the French data protection authority, at cnil.fr.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, the date at the top of the page changes with it.
