The classic

A full day, coast to cove

Out at ten while the water is still glass. A cove before the crowds find it, lunch somewhere you can only arrive at by sea, and the run home with the light going gold.

Enough for Villefranche and Cap Ferrat, a long swim and a drink on the water. The day that fits around everything else you had planned.

The golden hour

Out at six with the coast on one side and the sun going down the other. The sea flattens, the light goes, and everybody stops talking. Back alongside in the dark.

Twenty minutes off Cannes and a different century. Anchor off the monastery, swim in water the color of a pool, and eat at La Guérite under the pines with the tender waiting.

Sea pool rigged off the platform, snorkels in every size, and a captain who has done this with guests aboard a thousand times. Nobody spends the afternoon organizing anything.

Long lunch

Somewhere only a boat can reach

A table held at La Guérite, Club 55 or wherever suits the day, and a tender to the beach. Or the whole thing laid on the aft deck instead, which is what most people choose the second time.

Monaco

The Principality, from the water

Along the Basse Corniche and into Port Hercule past everything moored in it. Forty minutes from Beaulieu, and the only approach to Monaco that does not involve a tunnel.

The long run

Saint-Tropez and back in a day

Two hours west at a proper pace, lunch at Club 55 or in the old port, and home along the Estérel with the red rock going pink. The one day that needs the fast boat.

Seabobs, and a whole afternoon

Two seabobs aboard, snorkels, paddleboards and a platform you can walk off. Some days nobody gets back on the boat between eleven and four, and that is the day working.

Dinner in Saint-Jean, a party across the bay, a yacht at anchor to reach: a private tender and crew at your disposal for the evening, running you there and home again.

Transit in style

Arrive by sea

Nice to Saint-Tropez without the coast road, Monaco without the tunnel. A transfer that is also the best hour of the trip: bags aboard, and you step ashore where the day actually starts.

Cannes and Nice fill with people in lanyards for a week at a time. Four hours on the water does more for a client than another dinner, and it can be invoiced properly.
