Boat charter on the French Riviera
A day on the coast, explained.
The boat is from €1,400 a day with your captain included, and fuel charged at cost for the route you actually take. A half day is four hours and starts from €850. Hourly charters run from two hours. A €300 deposit holds the date, and it can be moved free of charge up to fourteen days before.
Nothing else is added at the quay. Towels, snorkelling gear, shade, a fridge with ice, and a chilled rosé are aboard before you are. Split across a full boat, a private day costs about what two people pay for a shared cruise and lunch ashore, and you get a cove to yourselves instead of a timetable.
Boat hire in Nice is the easiest start on the coast and the one most people fly into: twenty minutes from the airport to open water. Beaulieu-sur-Mer is the fleet’s home berth, in the lee of Cap Ferrat, with flat water on mornings when everywhere else is working. Yacht charter in Monaco boards at Port Hercule, and Cannes puts the Lérins Islands twenty minutes off the Croisette.
Antibes has the calmest water on the coast between the ramparts and Billionaires’ Bay, and Saint-Tropez is the great run west: two hours at a proper pace, worth it. Whichever port you leave from, the day can go east to Monaco and Menton or west to the Estérel, and that can wait until you are aboard.
On this coast boat hire, boat rental and boat charter mean the same thing, and what matters is not the word but the boat and who is driving it. Everything in this fleet is a private day boat with its own captain, for up to ten guests, out and back in a day. Nobody aboard needs a licence or any experience on the water.
What it is not: a shared cruise, which runs a fixed route to a timetable with sixty aboard and cannot stop; and not a week-long crewed charter with cabins and a chef, another business at another price. If you want a boat for a day, with a captain who knows which cove is calm today, this is it.
Your own captain, towels, snorkelling gear, shade, a fridge with ice and iced water, a freshwater shower on the platform, and a complimentary rosé. Food and drink beyond that is arranged to order and quoted plainly, or bring your own. Lunch ashore is paid at the restaurant; the crew hold the table.
Every boat shows live availability, so a day that looks free on this site is genuinely free. If the captain calls off a day for weather he decides early rather than at the quay, and you choose a new date or a full refund.
