Port Hercule sits under the palace with the Rock on one side and the Larvotto beaches on the other. Coming in from the water you pass the harbor wall at the same angle the Grand Prix boats do, and the whole city stacks up in front of you.

Monaco is a short run from Beaulieu and Nice, which is why most days here are half a day on the water and half ashore. Lunch on the Larvotto, an afternoon anchored off the Japanese Garden, and back before the light goes.

During the Grand Prix and the Yacht Show the harbor is closed to visiting boats, but the water outside it is the best seat in the Principality.

How much does a yacht charter in Monaco cost?
From €1,400 a day for the boat, captain included, and fuel at cost for the route. Half days of four hours start from €850. Boarding is at Port Hercule; the boat comes round from Beaulieu to meet you.
Can we charter a boat for the Monaco Grand Prix?
Yes, and the water is the best seat in the Principality. Port Hercule is closed to visiting boats over the Grand Prix and the Yacht Show, so those days board at Beaulieu-sur-Mer, twenty-five minutes west by sea, and watch from outside the harbour wall. Book months ahead.
Do I need a licence to charter a yacht in Monaco?
No. A captain comes with every charter, so nobody in your party needs a licence or any time on the water. The captain runs the boat; you run the day.
What does a boat day from Monaco look like?
Usually half on the water and half ashore: a swim off the Japanese Garden, lunch on the Larvotto or a table at Mala beach at Cap d’Ail, and the run back before the light goes. Menton and the Italian border are within an hour for a longer day.
